League News and Announcements

Playoff Standings and Results now posted up to Sept 16.

Here is Linda's analysis of the Saturday playoff picture:

Most teams will not move from their order as they are now.  Gators and Booze Buddies could switch - if Gators win and Booze Buddies lose on Saturday morning and I think that is it. If Woodpeckers win on Saturday and then they would be tied with Nostars but Nostars won 2 games against the Woodpeckers in the playoffs so Nostars would get 3rd place. (the 3rd game was a rainout.)

September 17 - Final Tourament Day, 2016.  Final games will be at 2pm, to be followed by awards and refreshments at Edelweiss Tavern at 4pm.

Other notes and rule updates:

  • bases will be moved back to 65 ft, same as standard SPO, (if possible at each diamond). (since this is not possible at Bloomingdale this season, this rule change has been suspended for now.)

  • front of batter's box will be drawn in by team captains before all games.

  • NO change to the home run rule, after discussion and league wide vote.

  • WOODEN BATS ARE COMING! Each team will play 2 games in June with league supplied wooden bats.  Feedback from everyone is encouraged!

Check out the league rules and bat eligibility here for the 2016 season.  There is NO mass bat testing scheduled for 2016 at this time.

The Kitchener-Waterloo Masters Slo Pitch League is recreational and open to men 40 and over.  Our games are played in Kitchener and Bloomingdale,  at 6:30 or 8:15  Monday to Thursday. Our season runs from early May to mid September and consists of over 35 games including playoffs.  We use Slo Pitch Ontario rules with a few exceptions.  Cost is only $125 per fulltime player for the 2016 season.

This is a great way to spend an evening or two a week in the park, rekindling your youthful exuberance, and making new friends. Many of our members review the highlights of their game over refreshments and munchies afterwards.
